Return To Prevention

You will experience improved oral health when you have your teeth examined regularly. We use modern tools to help diagnose issues as early as possible, including our digital X-rays and digital Panoramic X-Ray Machine and DIAGNOdent technology that enable us to find decay sooner and with greater precision.

Modern Digital Panoramic X-Ray Machine

Our modern digital panoramic X-ray machine allows us to scan the entire mouth with minimal radiation in 8 seconds. This means over 90% less radiation exposure than traditional X-rays.

Laser Cavity Exam: Early Detection, Precise Correction

DIAGNOdent aids in the detection of tooth decay. Even very small cavities are detected at the earliest stage, enabling us to protect and preserve the tooth substance.

You can see, in the photo on the left, that the dental “pick”, or “explorer” was traditionally used to look for new cavities. Research has shown that because it often cannot reach into where the new cavity begins, we (dentists and hygienists) were missing 76% of the most common cavities. 3 or 4 times we said things were fine, and we had missed diagnosing the cavity.

On the right, you can see the FDA Approved “Diagnodent” or “Laser Cavity Scanner” using its high-tech beam of laser light to reach down into areas the “pick” or “explorer” was simply unable to access. Diagnosis is instant, accurate, and 100% comfortable (there is no sensation at all from the laser diagnostic… unlike the “pick!”).
